"Lisa Girls"

The Lisa Carlson solo exhibition

of digital collage images

"Lisa Girls: Close-ups, Portraits, and Pin-ups"February 2009 at the

Patrick Moore Gallery

Salt Lake City,Utah

was inspired by the fashion editorials of

Vogue and Harper's Bazaar.

For the 2009 collection Lisa worked with

Photoshop, Giclee Printers, and Open Acrylic paints.

All these tools were innovative and just becoming available to the professional artist.

The new technology was interesting to Lisa

but she found the computer collage process

was not tactile enough or spontaneous enough

for her design sensibilities.

Lisa now works exclusively in photomontage

for her fine art wall pieces.

Her collages are constructed entirely

from photographs found in

vintage and current fashion magazines.

"Since  the 1960's I have loved

creating portrait collages from

fashion magazine pictures.

Through the cut and paste process

new images are revealed."
